Lucknow: A case of illegal mining was registered against a realtor who had got excess land excavated during the construction of a basement of an apartment in Wazirganj. The incident had caused scare to 1500 people residing in Golaganj area after a portion on the lane they are located caved-in on Wednesday morning. The incident occured due to a construction work in the area which got flooded following heavy rains.
As per reports, the accused identified as Raees Ahmad of Aminabad park locality in the area had been granted permission of land excavation for construction of a basement of the apartment for a period between November 16 and December 15, 2022.
However, Raees got extra land excavated during the construction and the irregularity surfaced on a surprise checking of the construction site by officials of the mining department. Later mining officer, Dinesh Kumar was asked to conduct a probe and the officer lodged a complaint on finding the violation of the permission granted for land excavation.
The officer in the FIR stated that the realtor got an extra of 1340.71 cubic metre soil excavated at the site. The police registered a case in this connection and summoned the realtor for further proceeding of the case.
Additional DCP, West Zone, CN Sinha said that police have arrested the accused after registering a case under the relevant sections of UP Mining act.
