Canada’s Immigration Minister, Mark Miller, has stated that the government is imposing a two-year limit on international student visas to address housing crises and deal with institutional bad actors. Approximately 560,000 such visas were issued last year, and the two-year limit is expected to result in 364,000 new permits being issued in 2024.
