Today, PM Modi announced the names of astronauts for the Gaganyaan Human Spaceflight Mission. This will be India’s first such space mission where astronauts will be taken to space for a short duration in low Earth orbit. The Gaganyaan Mission is scheduled to launch in 2025, sending two to three astronauts into space in the lower orbit at 400 kilometers above Earth.
