Chaiwala giving free education
Mehboob Malik of Kanpur, who could never complete his own studies due to financial constraints, has been teaching poor children for free for the last 8 years.
Mehboob Malik, the tea seller of Kanpur, could not complete his studies at one time due to financial constraints, but he knows the importance of education very well. That’s why today he is working to connect thousands of needy children with school by spending 80% of his earnings.
34-year-old Mehboob Malik runs a tea shop in Kanpur and also runs ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam Social Foundation’ for the better future of children.
Actually, he started this work on his own. Initially he used to teach four children at his shop.
Talking to The Better India, he told that when he used to come to the tea shop early in the morning, he often used to see that some children of the city were going to school wearing uniforms.
On the other hand, there are many children who only work as laborers throughout the day. Then he decided to reduce this gap and himself started teaching the children of the surrounding in his shop. With time both the number of children and the company of people started increasing. Mehboob wanted the children to live well with studies and start thinking about their future.
That’s why he started providing them with good uniforms and stationery too. Till the year 2017, he was single-handedly taking care of these children, but when the children started growing, then it became difficult for a single person to bear the responsibility of so many children. That’s why he started taking help from people by forming an organization.
