A clash erupted in the Champanagar region of Purnia over a social media post regarding the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The situation escalated to the extent that people took to the streets in protest against the post. They closed down the market and even set tires on fire, causing unrest. One side accused the other of making objectionable posts, including support for Hamas, on Instagram, which hurt the sentiments of many.
