Gandhinagar, July 17 (Language) India and the US have committed to strengthen bilateral ties, actively pursue the G20 agenda, explore the possibility of alternative mechanisms for financing renewable energy. Both the countries have also agreed to work for coordinated action to tackle climate change under the G20 agenda and strengthen Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs).
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen held bilateral meetings here on the sidelines of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting. Issues like climate change, rising debt burden on low and middle income countries, digital public infrastructure were discussed in these meetings.
