On Friday, Indian Railways announced that during the first 14 days of the “Swachhata Hi Sewa” (SHS) cleanliness drive, more than 2.14 lakh individuals actively engaged in 1,934 initiatives, collectively contributing 6,62,990 man-hours.
Launched on September 15, this fortnight-long campaign commenced with the Chairperson and CEO of the Railway Board administering a cleanliness pledge to all railway employees at Rail Bhawan in New Delhi.
The participants in this campaign encompass railway employees, passengers, and other stakeholders, with the primary objective of promoting a greener and more environmentally friendly railway system.
