Lucknow: A man was stabbed by three men when he opposed the molestation of his daughters in Auraiya district on Wednesday.
The victim identified as Brijendra Singh, a resident of Tumriha, who sustained grievous wounds was rushed to a nearby Community Health Center, from where doctors referred him to University of Medical Sciences in Saifai Etawah.
The family members of Brijendra accused three village men of molesting his daughters on a regular basis. The victim and his son had protested their advances on Tuesday.
“On Wednesday, the victim, Brijendra, was attacked brutally by three village men while he was sitting at a clinic in Phoota Quan village. One among them attacked him with a knife leaving him critically wounded,” as per local police officials.
He was rushed to a nearby CHC from where he was referred to University of Medical Sciences where he is recuperating.
“He is still in an unconscious state and his condition is critical,” informed the police.
An FIR has been registered against the three men under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Kotwali police station incharge Mukesh Babu Chauhan said: “A hunt is on to nab the accused.”
