Masked robbers murder woman in posh Lucknow locality

Lucknow: Unidentified masked miscreants killed a 60-year-old woman and looted gold ornaments and some valuables from her flat at FM apartment in Shakti Nagar locality under Ghazipur (Indiranagar) police station area on Wednesday afternoon and escaped unchallenged.

Heavy police force led by senior police officials including DCP North Qasim Abidi, ACP Ghazipur DK Singh reached the scene for investigation of the case.

ACP, DK Singh that the woman identified as Nafeesa Fatima of flat number 404 (4th floor of the building) was staying with her husband Wasim. He is a contractor and deals in medicine.

“In afternoon, her husband left the flat to offer namaz and Nafeesa Fatima was all alone. In the meantime, the miscreants entered the flat and they executed the crime,” he said.

He said gold ornaments and other valuables were found missing from the flat. “The woman was sent to RMLIMS where she was pronounced dead. The doctors told us that they did not detect any external/ visible injury at the body of the woman,” the ACP said.

He added that the police did not find any forced entry in the flat when it reached the scene and examined the crime scene. “Our field unit (forensic teams and surveillance wing) had obtained fingerprints and other evidence from the scene. We have got some important clue about the incident and hoped to crack the case soon,” he said.

Police teams quizzed the security guard and some men residing in the apartment and checked the CCTV footage to reach the miscreants.

Police said that it has surfaced that an employee of a pathology lab reached the flat to collect the blood sample and this made the miscreants cautious and they fled the scene.
