The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed textile education institutions to develop a curriculum for technical textiles as part of the National Textiles Mission, an initiative by the Ministry of Textiles to promote the technical textiles sector. The ministry will fund higher education institutions (HEIs) to upgrade their labs and train their faculty for the technical textiles subject.
