Nursing student booked for fake certificates, proxy for exam

Lucknow: A candidate selected for the BSc nursing course was booked for submitting fake certificates of his caste/category and getting the entrance exam taken by some other candidate in Vibhuti Khand police station area. His selection was cancelled later. Another such candidate was booked on Tuesday.

As per reports, the accused identified as Nigam Kumar was denied admission when he reported at SGPGI with a seat allotment letter as his caste/category was mentioned wrong in the application. The accused had written his category as other backward class (OBC) while he belonged to the general category.

The accused reached the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University to complain against SGPGI authorities who had denied admission.

State coordinator, ABBMU, Dr Lokesh Agrawal said the university checked the documents of the accused and it was found that some other person had taken the exam in his place. “The selection of the accused seemed suspect and so there was a need for legal action against him,” he said.

SHO, Vibhuti Khand, Anil Kumar said that an FIR was lodged under the charges IPC 420 (dishonesty), IPC 406 (criminal breach of trust) and other relevant charges.
