Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that true service to the society is to perform one’s duty with compassion. Addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of Dharamveer Anand Dighe Cancer Hospital and a temple complex here, Bhagwat said, “To serve mankind with the spirit of alleviating suffering and without any selfishness or ego is to show kindness towards others.” Duty has to be understood.
He said that education and health are equally important like “Roti, Kapda aur Makaan”, but facilities are inadequate and affordable and accessible health infrastructure is the need of the hour. Bhagwat expressed confidence that the proposed cancer hospital will benefit the society as it is being started with genuine feelings of removing suffering and hardships.
“Saving life is a service to God and it gives people hope that they are not alone,” he said. He assured all possible help from the RSS for the hospital project.
