Healthcare services in the border districts are deteriorating day by day. Amidst the grand claims of the Health Department, most government hospitals are in a pitiable state. In some places, there is a severe shortage of doctors, while in others, medicines are scarce. The most pressing issue arises from the absence of orthopedic specialists and pediatricians. Presently, local residents are compelled to travel up to 100 kilometers to seek medical attention for their loved ones. Even in the district hospital, if a doctor is on leave, there are no alternatives other than transporting patients to Haldwani.
