News Street Live, Lucknow: The much-awaited Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh will be inaugurated on April 29 in Hardoi district by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This occasion will mark a milestone in the state’s infrastructure development, directly benefiting crores of people.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, infrastructure projects in Uttar Pradesh have been advanced at a rapid pace, and the Ganga Expressway stands as a strong example of this progress. After receiving approval from the cabinet in 2020, the project was taken up on priority and has been implemented in record time. The expressway is emerging as a strong foundation for building a “Naye Uttar Pradesh”.

The Ganga Expressway has a total length of 594 kilometres. It starts from Bijoli village in Meerut and ends near Judapur Dandu village in Prayagraj. This route will directly connect western Uttar Pradesh with the eastern region, strengthening the state’s economic and social framework and making travel faster, safer, and more convenient.

The expressway will directly benefit 12 major districts including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj. A total of 519 villages are connected through this project, accelerating economic activities in both rural and urban areas.

At present, Uttar Pradesh accounts for around 55 percent of the country’s total expressway network. With the inauguration of the Ganga Expressway, this share will increase to nearly 60 percent, further strengthening UP’s position as a leading state in expressway development.

Improved connectivity will reduce logistics costs, providing significant benefits to industries and trade. The expressway will act as a new industrial corridor, attracting investment and generating employment opportunities for the youth.

The project will prove highly beneficial for farmers, as agricultural produce will reach markets more quickly, improving quality and pricing. Strengthening the supply chain for perishable goods will also contribute to increasing farmers’ income.

The Ganga Expressway will promote religious and cultural tourism. Improved connectivity to places like Prayagraj will increase tourist footfall and strengthen the local economy. Under the leadership of the Yogi government, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as an “Expressway State.”

Projects such as the Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, and Ganga Expressways are giving new direction to the state’s overall development.

The Ganga Expressway is not just a road project but a growth engine for Uttar Pradesh’s economy, playing a crucial role in positioning the state among the leading economies of the country.
