As he made his way from Raj Ghat to the iconic Red Fort, where he would address the nation, the striking turban added a distinctive touch to his attire. Paired with an off-white kurta, white trousers, and a jacket adorned with a pocket square, the turban’s long tail gracefully complemented his ensemble.
This choice of headgear maintains the tradition that Prime Minister Modi has observed since 2014, where he dons exuberant turbans on each Independence Day. In 2022, his turban harmonized with the hues of the National Flag, featuring motifs in saffron and green. The previous year, 2021, saw him donning a saffron turban adorned with red patterns. The 2020 edition showcased a splendid blend of saffron and cream tones.
Before ascending the Red Fort’s ramparts, Prime Minister Modi commenced his day by paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat, an act that symbolized his reverence for the country’s legacy.
