The government, aiming to reach Patna within 5 hours, reached close to its goal. CM Nitish inaugurated 3618 roads and bridges.

Upon coming to power in 2005, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar aimed to ensure that the construction of roads and bridges reached a level where people from any part of the state could reach the capital within a maximum of six hours. This goal was achieved. Now, work is underway to plan for reaching Patna in five hours instead of six.
