
Lucknow: Three persons, including a woman, were arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of a woman in Pipri village of Kaushambi, police said.
Those arrested were Raju Pasi (an occultist), his wife Gudia Devi and Surendra, all residents of Nizampur puraini.
Police said the deceased has been visiting the occultist for the past two years in order to get cure for her husband’s illness.
However, on June 19 she lodged an FIR against Raju and others alleging that he had outraged her modesty and even eloped with her minor daughter.
Following which, a case under sections 342, 363, 366, 376, 504 and 506 of IPC was registered with Pipri police station.
Police said, on July 2, the accused called the victim on the pretext of sorting out the dispute. However, the victim apparently consumed poisonous substance at the accused’s house and died.
After her death, a case under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of IPC was also added.
The cops while investigating the case found evidences against Raju, his wife and one another and arrested them on Friday. The cops have also rescued the minor daughter of the victim.
