New Delhi, July 13 (IANS) India hosts world’s most AI-active workforce, with 80 per cent of employees using AI multiple times a week and 41 per cent using it daily, a report said on Monday.
Around 31 per cent of employees believed AI will positively impact their job responsibilities in the coming year, making India one of the most optimistic markets globally, a report from ADP said.
Despite high adoption and stronger workplace engagement, employees who use AI most frequently questioned their productivity.
Frequent AI users reported being more engaged and experiencing lower levels of workplace stress than non-users, but they are also more likely to question their own productivity, it added.
Knowledge workers are the most positive about AI, with 37 per cent expecting a positive impact on their roles, compared to 21 per cent of skilled task workers and 19 per cent of repetitive task workers.
Younger employees are leading adoption, with 43 per cent of workers aged 18–39 using AI almost daily.
Women are adopting AI more frequently than men, with 44 per cent using AI nearly every day compared to 40 per cent of men.
AI usage remains high across organisations of all sizes, with daily usage reaching 54 per cent among employees in large enterprises.
“Indian employees are embracing AI faster than their global peers across industries, age groups and company sizes,” the report said.
“India’s leadership in workplace AI adoption shows that employees are eager to embrace technologies that can help them work smarter and create greater value,” said Rahul Goyal, Managing Director of ADP India and Southeast Asia.
The firm urged organisations to expand focus beyond AI adoption to effective implementation and workforce enablement.
