The Henmant Biswa Sarma govt. of Assam wants to table a Bill in theState Assembly to ban polygamy immediately. The committe setup under retired judge of Gauhati High court to submit is report in 60 days if the report comes after the UCC bill to be passed by in parilament rthen there is no need for the new Law,but if the report is tabled before then his Govt. could bring in its own bill to ban the plygamy in the state.
