Registration of Births and Deaths Amendment Bill 2023: The Birth and Death Registration (Amendment) Bill 2023 was passed in the Lok Sabha on August 1. With the enactment of the new law, the use of birth certificate will be mandatory in many cases. However, opposition leaders have raised concerns that depriving people of welfare schemes and education without this document could be unconstitutional.
