Lucknow: A Civil Services aspirant, 27, faced sexual harassment at the hand of her distant relative who posted her morphed pictures on social media in a bid to defame her in city’s Ashiana locality.
Senior sub-inspector, Aashiana, Rajendra Verma, said that an FIR was registered and a probe was under way.
The accused, a resident of Madiaon, is the brother-in-law of the victim’s cousin.
According to the complaint, the accused used to put her photos in his DP on WhatsApp and called her up or sent her messages during odd hours.
When she made it clear to him that he needed to stop, he began to threaten her and even told her brothers and uncles that he would not let her marry anyone else.
The complainant said that he threatened to end his life if “we lodge any complaint against him”.
She said the miscreant later morphed her photos to make it obscene and then uploaded them on social media.
No arrest has been made so far.
