Dawar of Jammu and Kashmir, Sarmoli of Uttarakhand, Mandla of Madhya Pradesh, Reik of Mizoram and Kanthallur village of Kerala have received the award for the best tourism village. The Union Tourism Ministry has honored five villages with gold, 10 with silver and 20 villages with bronze category for conservation of cultural heritage and sustainable development at Bharat Mandapam on World Tourism Day on Wednesday. Koruna of UP got silver award while Talav of Haryana, Chitkul of Himachal Pradesh and Nawanpind Sardaran of Punjab got bronze award. At the same time, Kiriteshwari village of Murshidabad district of Bengal has been awarded for the best tourism village.
