Similarly, if a family has one girl child in the first delivery and twin girls in the second, all three daughters will be eligible.
In case a family adopts an orphan girl, a maximum of two girls, including biological and legally adopted daughters, will be eligible for benefits.
Under the scheme, financial assistance is provided in six stages to strengthen both education and health of girls. In the first stage, ₹5,000 is given at the birth of the girl child. In the second stage, ₹2,000 is provided after completion of full immunization up to one year. In the third stage, ₹3,000 is given upon admission to Class 1.
