The Yogi government has taken steps to strengthen the basic infrastructure of the Police Department in the state by granting administrative and financial approval of Rs 18.41 crore for the construction of non-residential police buildings and development of essential facilities in various districts. The entire amount approved in financial year 2026-27 will be spent on the concerned construction works. The Yogi government has approved a total amount of Rs 18 crore 41 lakh 3 thousand.
An amount of Rs 2.08 crore has been approved for construction works at the Police Lines premises in Mathura, including a drain for water drainage and a 50-metre boundary wall. Meanwhile, Rs 1.25 crore will be spent on the construction of non-residential buildings at Barauli Police Outpost under Baldev Police Station in Mathura. The executing agencies designated for both works in Mathura are the Awas Evam Vikas Parishad and C&D-S Jal Nigam.
An amount of Rs 1.76 crore has been approved for the construction of a 32-capacity hostel/barracks and an investigation room at Chhaprauli Police Station premises in Baghpat. In Pratapgarh, approval has been granted for Rs 89.59 lakh for the construction of the Circle Officer Raniganj office. In Sultanpur, Rs 2.89 crore and Rs 2.84 crore have been approved respectively for the construction of 48-capacity hostels/barracks and one investigation room each at Kadipur Police Station and Kotwali Nagar. The executing agency for both these works will be Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam.
An amount of Rs 2.70 crore has been approved for a 48-capacity hostel/barracks and an investigation room at Kotwali Nagar Police Station in Moradabad. Rs 2.39 crore will be spent on the construction of a multipurpose hall for 200 personnel at the 12th Battalion PAC in Fatehpur. An amount of Rs 1.04 crore has been approved for replacing dilapidated electrical wires at the Reserve Police Lines in Ghaziabad, while Rs 57.69 lakh has been approved for constructing two halls for GP Store items at the Aligarh Police Lines.
The executing agency for these works will be Uttar Pradesh Police Awas Nigam Limited. Instructions have also been issued to ensure that all these construction works are completed within the prescribed timeline while maintaining quality. The approved funds must also be utilised by March 31, 2027.
