In a bid to develop Uttar Pradesh into a major global investment destination, the Yogi government has invited Singaporean companies to invest in the state. On Tuesday, Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna and Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ held a meeting with a 14-member high-level business delegation led by the Singapore Business Federation at Taj Palace Hotel in Lucknow. Discussions focused on investment opportunities across various sectors, including logistics, high-tech manufacturing, semiconductors, data centres, clean energy, urban planning and hospitality.
The meeting also saw a proposal to develop a dedicated ‘Singapore City’ and a high-tech industrial township near the Noida International Airport at Jewar. The initiative aims to attract Singaporean companies to Uttar Pradesh and give fresh momentum to industrial and business cooperation between the two sides.
Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said, “Uttar Pradesh believes in translating its commitments into action. The state’s more than 36 sector-specific policies, along with its foreign direct investment (FDI) policy, offer attractive opportunities to investors. Incentives worth over ₹70,000 crore have been extended to entrepreneurs so far.”
He urged Singaporean investors to place their trust in the state’s policies and governance framework and explore investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
The meeting was informed that Uttar Pradesh has an industrial land bank spanning over 75,000 acres. In addition, 27 integrated manufacturing and logistics clusters are being developed. The state’s extensive expressway network and connectivity with the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors offer significant potential for developing Uttar Pradesh into a major hub for manufacturing, warehousing and freight transportation.
Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Singapore in February 2026, the visiting delegation was presented with a proposal to develop ‘Singapore City’ and a high-tech industrial township near the Noida International Airport at Jewar. During the February visit, investment agreements worth around ₹60,000 crore had been agreed upon.
Given the presence of Jewar airport, industrial clusters and improved transport connectivity, the proposed development could open up opportunities for Singaporean companies in manufacturing, logistics, modern urban development and other business activities. The project aims to strengthen world-class industrial and commercial infrastructure in the state.
Discussions with the delegation covered investment opportunities in sectors such as multimodal logistics, high-tech manufacturing, data centres, cloud services, artificial intelligence, solar energy, green hydrogen and water recycling.
During the meeting, MoUs were exchanged with AgroCorp International, a company in the agriculture and food processing sector, and Blue Planet Environmental Solutions, a waste management company. These agreements could pave the way for further cooperation and investment in the respective sectors.
Singapore Business Federation Chairman Mark Lee described the Chief Minister’s visit to Singapore as an important milestone in strengthening bilateral business ties. He appreciated Uttar Pradesh’s expressway network, industrial parks and warehousing facilities.
Prasoon Mukherjee, Chairman of the SBF-India Business Committee, said, “Improved infrastructure and connectivity had strengthened investor confidence in the state.”
The meeting was attended by Singapore Business Federation CEO Kok Ping Soon, IHCL Managing Director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal, Additional Chief Secretary Alok Kumar, senior officials of Invest UP and other industry representatives.
