The residents of Sinkukandam and 301 Colony near Munnar want Arikompan, the marauder elephant, out of their lives. A recent High Court order has cleared the way for the elephant’s translocation to Parambikulam. However, animal activists say that another elephant will take Arikompan’s place if the colony residents are not evacuated and enough food is not ensured in the forests for wild elephants
