Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Nabin at the ‘Yuva Samvad’ program in Meerut, the land of revolution. He stated, “As soon as we assumed office, we created a transparent system for government recruitment for the youth. So far, 9.50 lakh young people have been given government jobs. ‘Mission Rojgar’ resumed the day before yesterday. Again on Tuesday morning, 2,500 youth will receive appointment letters. We will provide jobs to one lakh youth in six months. This process will continue uninterrupted.”
CM Yogi took a dig, stating, “Those who are questioning me are the very people under whose regime not a single recruitment was conducted fairly. As soon as an advertisement was issued, the Mahabharata’s relations, ‘chacha bhatija’, bhai, mama etc., would set out to collect money. Police stations and tehsils would be sold. During the SP regime, even those who had not appeared for the examination were given appointment letters. The UP Public Service Commission conducted an examination in which 56 out of 86 candidates belonged to the same caste. The person who topped it had passed High School, Intermediate and graduation in the third division. The rest of his education happened at the mercy of God. An ineligible person was made the chairman.”
Chief Minister stated, “Every youth should have the spirit of Nation First. The double-engine government is providing a platform for youthful energy. Work has been done in every sector for youth power as well as for all sections of society.” He called upon the youth to “compare with previous governments and promote healthy competition.” Swami Vivekananda said that it is not important how much wealth your education enables you to earn, but how much sense of dedication towards the nation it creates. CM told students and youth, “There are possibilities for you in every field. Develop your career accordingly.”
CM referred to the Mahabharata, Hastinapur, and Meerut during the freedom struggle and said Meerut has witnessed several eras with its own eyes. When the call for India’s independence was given, Uttar Pradesh played an extremely important role. The spark Mangal Pandey ignited in Barrackpore shook the throne of Delhi when it spread to Meerut under the leadership of Kotwal Dhan Singh Gurjar. Rani Lakshmibai in Jhansi, Nana Sahib in Bithoor and Tatya Tope carried the movement forward. No town or district in Uttar Pradesh was spared from the outcry against British rule for India’s independence. “Our unity had shaken the very foundations of British power.”
CM said that in independent India, Meerut also witnessed a period when riots became its destiny. CM also referred to vehicles looted and stolen from across the state being scrapped. He stated, “When cases of vehicle theft came before us in 2017, we asked where the vehicles were going. We learned they were being cut in Meerut. We told the administration to turn the bulldozer’s steering so this business would stop. After that, cutting of stolen vehicles stopped here.” Meerut is now connected with a 12-lane expressway and Namo Bharat Rapid Rail.
CM stated, “There have been no riots in Uttar Pradesh for nine and a half years. I told the police personnel to at least conduct a mock drill so that rioters do not forget what action looks like.” He added, “Now there is a double-engine government, so parents are not worried. Before 2017, every mother and father used to worry about how to educate their children in western Uttar Pradesh.” Referring to the 2017 election campaign, CM stated, “My first program was in Bulandshahr, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Ghaziabad. When I stood up to speak at the first public meeting, some people came to me and said, ‘Please do not say anything like that.’ We said that if our government was formed, riots would stop, daughters would be safe and good education would be available. People would look around to see whether anyone was watching and only then would they clap. I said, ‘At least clap openly.’ At that time, people were even afraid to clap.”
CM stated, “Before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was called a BIMARU state. No one wanted to come here. There was migration from here. Now migration, riots, curfew and the sale of stolen vehicles have stopped here. Now every person can choose an institution and employment according to their preference.” He added, “We built the state’s first sports university in Meerut. By branding sports products under ODOP, we gave them recognition. Now farmers are prosperous. They are not worried about whether the sugarcane price will be paid for their daughter’s marriage. Government is now guaranteeing payment of sugarcane prices. Government paid ₹3.30 lakh crore towards sugarcane prices between 2017 and 2026.”
CM stated, “Now the middlemen have been eliminated. Now 15 paise out of every 100 does not go down the line. Rather, Modi Ji has created a system through Jan Dhan, mobile, and digital transactions so that the entire ₹100 goes into the beneficiary’s account. Not even a single rupee can be diverted.” He added, “Under the leadership of PM Modi Ji, the BJP government has made people realize the power of technology.”
CM stated, “When we were MPs, we used to get 10 coupons each for connections. Some people became notorious for selling coupons. The Congress tended to sell. Their mindset was wrong, so they taught people to steal. But when Atal Ji became Prime Minister, he carried out reforms in the telecom sector. India has advanced in this sector. Atal Ji gets the credit for smartphones and Modi Ji gets the credit for the digital revolution. The intention with which both worked and their ability to take decisions became their biggest identity.”
Taking an indirect dig at Rahul Gandhi, CM stated, “A youth who looks at every action with a negative mindset cannot be a youth. The spirit of youth is positive. Their perspective should be clear. India’s youth power did not migrate. It did not consider the challenge a problem, but instead found a path towards a solution.” CM also referred to Shri Ram, Shri Krishna, Buddha, Swami Vivekananda, Subhash Chandra Bose, Maharana Pratap and Guru Gobind Singh. He referred to Ram’s resolve to annihilate the demons and stated that Shri Krishna liberated Mathura, which was tormented by the atrocities of Kansa. “Shri Krishna said that the flute would be played in Vrindavan, but in Mathura, the Sudarshan would have to do the work.”
CM stated, “Before 2017, curfews used to continue for months in Uttar Pradesh. Instead of taking action against rioters, they were honored at Chief Minister’s residence. But now BrahMos missiles are being manufactured in UP, making even Pakistan’s masters tremble. Uttar Pradesh has the largest young workforce. Everyone has witnessed Uttar Pradesh change, along with a changing India. Now, along with infrastructure, there is also respect for development and heritage. Delhi can be reached from Meerut in 40 to 45 minutes. Our public representatives now reach Lucknow from the Ganga Expressway in three and a half hours. This speed is the foundation of progress.”
CM referred to the migration from Kairana and also heard a trader’s pain there. He then stated, “I went to Kairana in 2021. Now people have returned there. I personally went, met people, and listened to their problems. Daughter of that family narrated her pain.” He added, “There is security everywhere in Uttar Pradesh now, from Kairana and Saharanpur to Sonbhadra and from Bijnor to Ballia.” Previous governments destroyed the state’s economy. “We preserved the ODOP and MSME sectors. Through this, 3.25 crore people got employment. When we provided an excellent security environment, investment proposals worth ₹50 lakh crore came in. Ground-breaking ceremonies were held for ₹15 lakh crore. Investment came to Uttar Pradesh in every sector. Previous governments gave one mafia per district. We gave one medical college per district.”
CM told the youth, “Do not run away from technology. Do not adapt to it; rather, adapt it to suit yourself. Explore every field, including quantum computing, Internet of Things, robotics and AI, because you have possibilities. Study good books. Maintain a sense of reverence towards heritage, motherland, ancestors, national heroes, pilgrimage sites, elders and gurus. This will make you knowledgeable and give you the spirit to face challenges. Prepare to realize your dreams. The double-engine government is waiting for you with its doors wide open.”
