Bijnor’s distinctive craftsmanship will make its mark at the fourth edition of the ‘Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show’ (UPITS-2026). A total of 10 prominent industrial units, exporters, and handicraft artisans from various sectors in Bijnor district have been selected for this prestigious state government event. From Nagina’s historic woodcraft to stone art, textiles, herbal tea linked to the district’s spiritual heritage, natural sweeteners, and products related to modern hair fashion, a wide range of products will be showcased before foreign and domestic buyers at this international mega event.
With importers from across the world and multinational companies participating, the district’s cottage units will have a direct opportunity to connect with the global supply chain and major business houses.
The Nagina region of Bijnor is world-famous for its intricate wood carving and exquisite artworks carved on sheesham wood. Three prominent units will represent the wooden handicraft sector at the Trade Show. Entrepreneur Rohit Kumar’s unit, ‘R.K. Handicraft’, will showcase a range of its excellent woodcraft products. Meanwhile, ‘Shri Ji Craft’ of Vikram Singh Chauhan and the firm ‘Handover International’ of Tariq Abdullah will display an extensive range of carved wooden handicraft products.
The display of these products, prepared to international standards, is expected to help local wood artisans secure direct, long-term wholesale contracts from foreign buyers.
The district’s diversity in handicrafts and apparel will also be a major attraction at the exhibition. In the stone handicraft category, Ankita Rajput’s unit ‘Malihar’ and ‘Nagina Craft Development Society’, led by Shamim Akhtar, will showcase outstanding handmade stone products.
In the textile industry category, Mohammad Faiz’s firm ‘A to F Textile’ will display high-quality textiles and handloom fabrics. Meanwhile, keeping in view the demand in the modern cosmetic and lifestyle market, an international range of premium hair wigs prepared by Salim Ahmad’s unit ‘Hair Fashion India’ will be showcased.
To promote agriculture-based innovation and traditional flavors, three prominent food processing entrepreneurs from the district have been given space on this platform. ‘Vidur Herbal Tea’, associated with the district’s mythological and historical heritage, will be showcased by Vasudev Singh’s unit, ‘VS Group’.
In addition, Vijendra Kumar’s ‘Creative Farming Producer Company Ltd.’ will present an innovation in natural, nutritious sweeteners: white beetroot jaggery and silage. Meanwhile, taking forward the local confectionery tradition, batisa, sohan papdi and khasta gajak prepared by Navneet Kumar’s firm ‘Chaturvedi Food Pvt. Ltd.’ will attract visitors from India and abroad.
UPITS-2026 will become a concrete means of strengthening the district’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Through this event, small artisans and entrepreneurs of Bijnor will have the opportunity to establish direct business-to-business (B2B) interactions, without intermediaries, with institutional investors, corporate buyers, and foreign business delegations.
This will not only provide regular work to traditional artisans associated with wood and stone crafts, but also create new rural employment opportunities in the agriculture-food processing and handloom sectors.
Amit Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Industries, District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Center, Bijnor, said the UP International Trade Show is a historic platform for the district’s traditional artisans, modern entrepreneurs, and food processing units to establish global credibility.
He said that whether it is Nagina’s woodcraft or the district’s rich confectionery and herbal products, all 10 selected units from Bijnor have the full potential to meet international quality standards. The department’s primary objective is to connect all these units with major exporters and international buyers and facilitate concrete business agreements.
