Preparations are gaining pace to give the city of Lord Ram a grand, divine appearance for the tenth Deepotsav-2026. In accordance with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of making Ayodhya ‘Ram-may’, episodes from the Ramayana and religious artworks are being painted on the walls across the city.
The Ayodhya Municipal Corporation is decorating walls with attractive paintings from Ramkatha Park to the areas surrounding Lata Mangeshkar Chowk. These paintings depict episodes associated with the life of Lord Shri Ram, along with designs of traditional earthen lamps. Through color and brushstrokes, artists are bringing the saga of the Ramayana to life on the walls so devotees and tourists visiting Ayodhya during Deepotsav can experience a cultural glimpse of the Treta Yuga.
Paintings of Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita, and other prominent characters from the Ramayana are being created on the walls of the city. Beautiful designs of traditional earthen lamps are also being depicted alongside them. Ayodhya Municipal Corporation is also commissioning attractive welcome-themed paintings that convey the message of Deepotsav Ayodhya-2026. At night, these artworks, lit up, further enhance the city’s beauty. Artists are working with full dedication to give public walls a new look. In this way, these walls will not remain limited to beautification alone, but will also showcase Ayodhya’s religious, cultural, and spiritual identity.
Ayodhya is being specially decorated to welcome devotees arriving from across the country and abroad for Deepotsav. The Municipal Corporation aims to ensure that as soon as devotees enter the city of Lord Ram, they feel its cultural heritage and the glorious traditions of the Treta Yuga. Through wall paintings, the corporation is bringing episodes from the Ramayana to the masses. At the same time, the new generation is also being introduced to the ideals of Lord Shri Ram and the philosophy of Maryada Purushottam’s life.
Municipal Commissioner Jayendra Kumar stated, “Tenth Deepotsav holds special significance for Ayodhya. Along with making the event grand and memorable, the Municipal Corporation is working to ensure that the entire city of Ayodhya appears Ram-may. Beautification work is underway on the city’s major roads, intersections, and public places. Artworks depicting episodes associated with Lord Shri Ram and traditional earthen lamps are being created on the walls around Ramkatha Park and Lata Mangeshkar Chowk.”
He further stated, “The objective is not merely to beautify the walls, but to showcase Ayodhya’s rich religious and cultural heritage through these paintings. When devotees visit Ayodhya, they should be able to witness the ideals and dignity of Lord Shri Ram, along with a cultural glimpse of the Treta Yuga, in every corner of the city. Municipal Corporation teams are continuously working to present Ayodhya in a clean, beautiful, well-organized, and attractive form for Deepotsav. With the illumination of earthen lamps, Ramayana-themed paintings, and attractive decorations, Ayodhya is preparing to welcome the tenth Deepotsav.”
These depictions of the Ramkatha emerging on the city walls not only enhance the beauty of Lord Ram’s city but also add cultural and spiritual color to the festive spirit of Deepotsav.
