Class X boy goes to school hiding knife in bag, stabs classmate to death

Lucknow: A class X student stabbed his classmate to death at Prayag Inter College located in New Azad Nagar area of the district on Monday. According to reports, there had been a quarrel between the two boys, who had both failed the same class last year, over some issue earlier too.

To avenge the same, the boy accused of murder reached the school hiding a knife in his schoolbag. At school, he had a fight with his classmate and stabbed him to death with the knife.

Hearing his screams, other children rushed to the spot and informed the teachers and management of the school, who rushed to the spot and found the boy lying on the ground bleeding profusely.

The school staff alerted the police control room and police took the severely injured boy first to the community health centre and then to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Bidhnu police station in-charge Pradyumna Singh said the accused was known to pick up quarrels with schoolmates frequently.

Doctors at LLR said the student died due to the grievous wounds in his windpipe.

The victim’s father lives in Gangapur village and works in a private firm at Jarib Chowki.

Ghatampur ACP Dinesh Shukla said the accused student had been taken into custody. His interrogation is on. “The accused attacked his classmate during the lunch break,” said the official.

“Further action will be taken after investigation in the matter. The body has been sent for postmortem. Statements of schoolteachers and other staff members have been taken,” he said.
