Lucknow: A 35-year-old allegedlly committed suicide after killing his wife and three children on Tuesday night.
The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when worried locals called Nagesh’s cousin Sonu Vishwakarma on not noticing any activity in the former’s house. As Sonu reached there and entered the house, he saw the bodies of three children on the cot, Radhika’s body lying on the floor at some distance and Nagesh’s body hanging from the ceiling. News of the family’s end spread like wildfire and later, Madiyahu cops reached the spot.
Jaunpur SP Ajay Pal Singh and many other senior officers inspected the crime site. Following investigation, police said that Nagesh had murdered his wife Radhika (32) by hitting on her head with an iron rod and strangulated his children- Nikita (12), Ayushi (8) and Adarsh (10)- before hanging himself in his house in Jairampur.
Shocked by the horrific act, hundreds of villagers gathered around the house of Nagesh, who ran a tent and catering business on Kathiyao road. The exact cause of the multiple killings couldn’t be ascertained, police said that, adding that all five bodies have been sent for autopsy and further probe in the case is underway.
