Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Dara Singh Chauhan for the Legislative Council by-election. The seat became vacant after the resignation of former Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma. A by-election is now scheduled for this seat. Dara Singh Chauhan had previously switched allegiance from the Samajwadi Party (SP) to the BJP after losing in the Ghosi by-election. The BJP has now fielded him as the candidate for the Legislative Council by-election, and Singh’s MLC status is anticipated.
