- Timely police recruitment, training and improved infrastructure have created a better security environment: CM Yogi
- Chief Minister inaugurated two modern security buildings for the security of Gorakhnath Temple area
- Security is the first priority of good governance, every individual needs it: Chief Minister
News Street Live, Gorakhpur, April 16: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “After 2017, timely recruitment, proper training and development of infrastructure in the police department have accelerated the functioning of police personnel. As a result, a better security environment has been established in the state and a strong model of good governance has emerged.”

Chief Minister was addressing the inauguration ceremony of two modern security buildings constructed for the security of the Gorakhnath Temple area on Thursday morning. These buildings include offices of the Additional Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police related to temple security, a control room, police store room and a maintenance workshop.
More than ₹9.18 crore has been spent on their construction. Chief Minister also reviewed the facilities available in the security buildings.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister added, “Security is the first condition of good governance. Every individual needs security, and efforts are made at the government level to ensure it. However, earlier only one aspect was visible. Whether it is a constable, sub inspector or deputy SP, without proper training, they are like a common person. In previous governments, recruitment, training and infrastructure facilities were not given due importance. As a result, many youths were not willing to join the police force.”

Highlighting the changes in the police department after 2017, the Chief Minister said, when his government came to power 9 years ago, more than half of the posts in the police force were vacant. Over the past 9 years, more than 2 lakh 19 thousand police personnel have been recruited.
He further added, “In 2017, the training capacity of the police was not more than 3 thousand at a time, whereas now, due to improved infrastructure, 60 thousand police personnel can be trained simultaneously. Timely decisions and proper resource allocation have resulted in police being equipped with 200 times more facilities.”

Chief Minister said that earlier, whether it was a police station, outpost, police line or PAC battalion, there were no proper residential facilities or good barracks for police personnel. They had to live on rent and manage their lives with difficulty. Complaints were often received that police personnel had occupied houses illegally.
He continues by adding, “In reality, it was due to situations like landlords asking them to vacate during critical times such as their children’s examinations. In frustration, they would refuse to vacate. Today, such complaints have ended because the government has provided residential facilities and constructed barracks in every police line.”
Chief Minister said, earlier police station buildings were constructed without barracks and other essential facilities. Often, when police apprehended criminals, there was no proper arrangement to keep them, making the police appear helpless. In some cases, criminals even managed to escape. Now, there is no need for the police to feel helpless. Criminals cannot escape as proper holding facilities are available within police stations.
He added, “No one can attack a police station now, as separate and well equipped barracks have been built for police personnel. Adequate police personnel will be available at all times in every police station. Anyone attempting to breach security will be dealt with firmly, and police personnel will be seen performing their duties with alertness.”
On this occasion, Mayor Dr Manglesh Srivastava, MLC and BJP State Vice President Dr Dharmendra Singh, MLAs Vipin Singh, Mahendrapal Singh, Pradeep Shukla, Sarvan Nishad, Chief Minister’s Advisor Avanish Awasthi, ADG Gorakhpur Zone Mutha Ashok Jain, ADG Security Tarun Gaba, BJP District President Janardan Tiwari, Metropolitan Coordinator Rajesh Gupta and others were present.
