The state government’s ambitious event, the ‘UP International Trade Show’, aimed at making the state a one trillion-dollar economy and giving local handicrafts global recognition, will be organized from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida. The craftsmanship of Sambhal district in western Uttar Pradesh will showcase its splendor on this international platform.
Under the state government’s ambitious ‘One District-One Product’, ‘One District-One Cuisine’ and MSME Policy, stalls have been allotted in different halls to seven prominent industrial units and artisans from Sambhal. More than 2,400 exhibitors will participate in this five-day fair, organized across a vast exhibition area of more than 1.10 lakh square meters, where Sambhal’s world-famous ‘Horn and Bone Craft’ and the delicious taste of Sonpapdi will be presented to international buyers.
Sambhal’s Horn and Bone Craft has a unique identity globally. Three prominent artisans from Sambhal have been given space in Hall Number 9 (ODOP Pavilion) of UPITS-2026. Among them, Mohammad Arif has been allotted Stall Number H9-0116/ and Shah Alam Stall Number H9-02/72, where they will display handicraft products made from horn and bone.
Meanwhile, Vikas Jain of Amazing Craft Home has been allotted Stall Numbers H9-03/126, 127, 128 and 129, that is, a large space comprising four stalls, where he will showcase an elaborate display of wooden handicrafts.
The district’s entrepreneurs have moved beyond traditional ODOP and ventured into modern art and the export sector. In Hall Number 10 (MSME), Zubair Umar (firm: Zubair Umar Mr Zubair) has been allotted Stall Number H10-08/457, where he will present a unique combination of horn-bone, resin art and wooden craft.
Besides, in Hall Number 14 (ODOP), Kamal Kaushal Varshney of Neelkanth Overseas, under the banner of Handicrafts Welfare Association, has been allotted Stall H14-14/44, while Shahadat Hussain has been allotted Stall H14-14/42. In Hall Number 11, Mohammad Aqib of Decor World Expo will showcase export-quality products from the district under the Uttar Pradesh Export Promotion Council.
Alongside handicrafts, Sambhal’s delicious local flavors have also been given a global platform this time. Under the ‘One District, One Cuisine’ scheme, Rajendra Kumar, proprietor of Daksh Sweet Center in Sambhal, has been given space in Hall Number 16 to promote the food processing sector. Guests and traders arriving from across the country and abroad will get an opportunity to savor Sambhal’s famous Sonpapdi here.
